Do you know a Vernon Communications member that is also a teacher who rocks technology in the classroom? We're searching for five educators in our membership who leverage technology to make a positive impact!

Whether they use a fantastic online learning app, interactive smart boards, or innovative tools to connect with parents, we want to celebrate their achievements!

Here's what we're looking for:

  • Impact: How has this teacher's use of technology improved student learning or engagement?
  • Inspiration: Does their approach spark creativity and motivate students?
  • Integration: How seamlessly do they use technology?

The prize? A $50 credit toward each winning teacher's next Vernon Communications bill!

Vernon Communications Cooperative (“VCC”) is offering eligible members a chance to nominate a VCC member who is a teacher in the Vernon Communications Cooperative serving area for a chance to win a $50 service credit in accordance to the terms and conditions provided herein (the “Contest”).  By acceptance of the Nomination Promotion, Customer acknowledges and agrees to the following terms and conditions (the “Agreement”):

Official Rules

  1. Sponsor: The Contest is sponsored by Vernon Communications Cooperative, located at 103 N Main Street, Westby WI 54667.
  2. Agreement to Official Rules: Nominators (person nominating) and Nominees (person who has been nominated) in the Contest constitutes entrants full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon being compliant with these Official Rules and fulfilling all other requirements set forth herein.
  3. Entry Period. The Contest is only available to eligible members by completing the nomination form hosted on vernoncom.coop/teachers between 8am CST on May 3, 2024, and 4pm CST on May 10, 2024 (the “Entry Period”).  Any nominations received outside of the Offer Period will not be honored by VCC. 
  4. Eligibility: The Contest is open to legal residents of the United State of America who are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry. To be eligible for the Contest, the nominee must also meet all of the following criteria (i) is nominated through the appropriate channels for the Contest (ii) is a teacher in one of the following Wisconsin School Districts: Viroqua, Westby, Cashton, Seneca, Kickapoo, LaFarge, or DeSoto (iii) Is a current VCC member with an active account (iiii) nominee has granted the nominator consent for their nomination. Employees of VCC and other companies associated with the promotion of the Contest, as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings and children) are not eligible.
  5. How to Enter: To enter, go to vernoncom.coop/teachers during the Entry Period and follow the instructions outlined on the “Nomination Form.” Limit of one (1) entry per persons. Entry must complete and submit all requested information during the entry period to be eligible to win.
  6. Prizing: The winner will receive one (1) $50 credit on their VCC bill. The retail value of this prize is $50. The credit will expire once the amount has been used in full. If winner should disconnect services with VCC before the credit has been used in full, the remaining credit balance will become null and void. No cash payments of the $50 prize credit will be made at any time for any reason. 
  7. Prize Drawing: Five (5) winners will be selected from all the nominations using the following criteria (i) 33.3% for perceived impact on students’ lives (ii) 33.3% for inspiration to students and/or community (ii) 33.3% for integration of technology in classroom. The eligible entries will be scored by five (5) judges made up of VCC employees. Winner will be drawn on or about May 10, 2024. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner via telephone or email on or about May 11, 2024. If the potential winner cannot be reached within three (3) days after the date of the first attempt to contact him/her, the Sponsor will select another potential winner in his/her place from the remaining non-winning, eligible entries.
  8. Winner Notification: The potential winner will be notified by phone, email or mail. Prize will be fulfilled on the winners VCC billing statement on June 1, 2024.
  9. Release of Liability. By entering the Contest, nominator and nominee agrees to release and hold harmless VCC and its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of the Contest. Customer also understands that the prize is awarded “as-is” and that the Sponsor makes no warranties, express or implied, with respect to the prize.
  10. Publicity Release. As a condition of acceptance, the winner(s) agrees to the use of their name, image, and likeness, as well as photographs of the prize, for promotional purposes by the Sponsor. This may include, but is not limited to, website announcements, social media posts, and press releases.
